A Smashing New Partnership

January 30, 2017

Five years ago, I was recently engaged, madly in love, and elbows deep into wedding planning.  But as my fiance and I began to dig in to the details of our ‘Jew-ish‘ wedding, one thing became abundantly clear: there wasn’t a lot of wedding inspo out there for those planning Jewish-interfaith nuptials.  Sure, main stream wedding blogs would feature the occasional couple under the Chuppah.  But when it came to questions such as “what does a Jewish-Interfaith wedding ceremony look like,” “what are the seven blessings” and “what the heck is a Krenzel dance, and do we need one? (answer: it’s awesome, and yes)” we were coming up short.

Eventually, we did manage to get most of our questions answered with the help of some serious googling and asking around.  But lucky for you, it’s now way easier to find all the Jewish and ‘Jew-ish’ wedding info you need in one beautiful place…

because there’s a perfect little corner of the internet called “Smashing the Glass” here to assist you.

SMASHING_SUPPLIERIt’s packed full of ideas, tips and advice for Jewish brides and grooms, plus inside looks at real Jewish weddings.  It’s also home to a vendor directory (including yours truly) specifically curated for contemporary Jewish and Jew-ish weddings.

One more thing I’ll mention is that the owner of the blog, Karen Cinnamon, has recently launched the Smashing Wedding Consultancy where she meets with couples directly at the beginning stages of their planning process and generates creative ideas for them as they plan their big day.  Boy, could we have used that!

Happy browsing!

Wedding Color Crush: Blush & Gray

January 24, 2017

There’s something utterly romantic and sophisticated about the color duo blush and gray, don’t you think?  While blush has long been a staple in the wedding industry, pairing it with a soft, warm grey is pretty new.  And in my humble opinion, the gray gives this palette a fresher, more grown up vibe.

I fell in love with this color combo when I was first designing my Paint Burst Blush ketubah (shown below!)  And I’ve since begun to explore this palette in other designs as well.  In fact, just last week, I finished a custom version of my “Summer Abstract” design that featured a palette of soft to deep blushes with an assortment of warm grays.  I like it so much, that it might end up as one of my standard options in the Abstract collection.
