What I love about early autumn light (+ a new design!)

October 16, 2017

Floral Wreath Ketubah

Before the air gets cold and the leaves start changing in earnest, there’s a brief moment in time when an early autumn golden light fills my world. And when it arrives, I suddenly find myself craving a very specific color palette. One filled with blush and caramel, ivory and sage, rose gold and that warm but smokey grey that only comes out in the fall.

I want to put this in my hair and write love letters sealed with golden wax. I want to nibble on these or this or that. But most of all, I want to share a cup of tea with my sweetie and be stupidly happy in love.

Early Autumn Light Wedding Mood Board

It’s a glorious time of year.

As you know, even with my wedding a solid 4 years behind me, I have a bit of a soft spot for putting together wedding mood boards on pinterest. Last week, I added a brand new ketubah and wedding certificate design to my shop. It’s a romantic, floral wreath design featuring the warm, soft colors that sing early fall. As I imagined what kind of wedding this design might find itself at home in, I began putting ideas into a Pinterest board, and well, another wedding mood board was born.

Cherry Tree Ketubah – Brand new in the shop!

April 17, 2017

It’s always an exciting day here at the studio when I add a brand new design to the shop.  And it’s quite fitting that I finally am getting this one posted on the very day our flowering trees have begun to bloom.  After surviving my very first Vermont winter, all I can say is “Hooray for spring!”

The Cherry Tree Ketubah captures that brief moment in time each spring when the winter fades and the world is temporarily filled with cherry blossoms.  These delicate abstracted blossoms symbolize new beginnings as well as remind us of all the beauty this world has to offer.

Cherry Tree Ketubah
It is available in two different color palettes – Dawn (with softer, lighter tones) and Dusk (with deep blues). If you look closely, you will also find a secret message written in the blossoms – the Hebrew for “you are the one in whom my soul delights.”

And because I couldn’t help myself, I spent the morning browsing Pinterest and dreaming up the perfect spring cherry tree-inspired wedding – full of soft white blossoms, dappled sunlight, and, obviously, cake.  You can see the whole Pinterest board here.

If you have any questions about the Cherry Tree Ketubah, please don’t hesitate to get in touch!

Wedding Color Crush: Blush & Gray

January 24, 2017

There’s something utterly romantic and sophisticated about the color duo blush and gray, don’t you think?  While blush has long been a staple in the wedding industry, pairing it with a soft, warm grey is pretty new.  And in my humble opinion, the gray gives this palette a fresher, more grown up vibe.

I fell in love with this color combo when I was first designing my Paint Burst Blush ketubah (shown below!)  And I’ve since begun to explore this palette in other designs as well.  In fact, just last week, I finished a custom version of my “Summer Abstract” design that featured a palette of soft to deep blushes with an assortment of warm grays.  I like it so much, that it might end up as one of my standard options in the Abstract collection.

Cozy Copper Winter Wedding

A Cozy Coppery Winter Wedding

January 9, 2017

I don’t know how things are going in your neck of the woods, but when I woke up on Saturday morning, it was a single degree outside.  That’s right – 1 degree Fahrenheit.  My first thought was, “where are my fuzziest socks?”  But my second thought was, “can you imaging trying to take wedding photos in this temperature?”

But while a Vermont winter might not afford the best opportunity for an outdoor photoshoot (unless your wedding dress is made of polar bear fur, of course), it could be a truly incredible backdrop for a cozy winter wedding.  It wasn’t long before I started day dreaming about my ideal winter wedding.  I pictured a soft spruce green with warm grays and punches of shimmery copper.  Much like the palette of my Tree of Life in Winter ketubah and wedding certificate.  It wasn’t long before I was on Pinterest gathering inspiration for my hypothetical January nuptials, leaving my poor husband to do all the breakfast dishes by himself.

My Cozy Copper Wedding inspiration board features my Tree of Life in Winter design, which is available as both a ketubah and a wedding certificate.

Spring Green Wedding Inspiration

February 18, 2015

spring green wedding

At the end of every February, the spring wedding ketubah orders begin to roll in. And nothing makes me happier on a cold February afternoon than working on bright, cheery designs and thinking about the bright, cheery spring weddings that are just around the corner. One of my most popular spring designs is the Tree of Life in Spring shown here. It’s filled with every sort of green, and features the silhouette of a tree with tiny spring buds.

During a coffee break, I decided to hop on over to Pinterest and start gathering up some inspiration for a Spring Green Wedding. Pinterest is made for coffee breaks, isn’t it?

What do you think? Could you picture getting married surrounded by every shade of Spring green?

Inspiration – Rose Gold Wedding

November 12, 2014

Rose Gold Wedding

If I had a rose gold wedding…

When my husband proposed to me back in 2012, he surprised me with an unusual and beautiful rose gold engagement ring.  I’d never really considered this off-the-beaten-path metal, but the moment I laid eyes on that ring, I became obsessed.  And I mean obsessed with rose gold.  I spent the next year hunting down more rose gold items for my collection – you should have seen the epic meltdown of joy that occurred when I found this bag on sale.

So when a client asked me to make a custom version of my Typographic Ketubah design with hand-painted rose gold details, I just about died of excitement.  I wish I had thought of that when I was making my own ketubah.  Would it be strange to make myself a second ketubah just so that it could have some rose gold on it?  My Rabbi thinks so, but what does she know? 😉

Rose Gold Ketubah

Of course, once I had a rose gold wedding on my mind, I quickly descended into a fit of Pinning all the rose gold goodies that I would clearly need.  Rose gold dog-themed thank you cards?  Check. Rose gold silverware? Check.  Rose gold bridesmaid gifts? Check, check and check.  I swear – one day those boots will be mine.  All mine.
